In the third episode of our Book Discussions series, we are joined by Dan Joseph, a Masters student of Landscape Architecture at SSoAL!
Cities are vast, multilayered, complex and constantly evolving. The oftentimes myopic view of architects that focus on the creation of buildings without considering the environment they are situated in can hinder our designs. Given the ever-growing demand for space in cities and the various issues that contemporary architecture needs to tackle, the need to cooperate with a plethora of fields and learn how to interpret our cities is urgent.
Have a listen to how this book could be your inspiration to rethink about the urban reality!

The concept of Co-Housing is gradually becoming more popular in the UK, and its architectural concept, benefits and challenges encourage us to rethink the way we design housing projects in contemporary times.
What is it that makes Co-Housing so special? How does it work, what are its features and how is a project like this set up?
Join us and our guest, Leo Care, in the podcast booth, where we will be taking about the Open House Project, an intriguing Co-Housing initiative in the outskirts of Sheffield!

How does a novel correlate to the SSoAL? What parallels can we draw between the mythical tower of Babel and our very own Arts Tower? What is the role of academics, and how do we, as architecture students, get so wrapped around our own projects, much alike the protagonist of the novel, Robin?
Welcome to "The Book Discussions"; our new series of "Off the Drawing Board" kicks off with the book "Babel", by R.F. Kuang. With MArch student Hannah Wolowacz joining us in the studio, we will be talking about the awarded novel, and try to understand how a speculative fictional story can be significantly correlated to the reality of being an architecture student.
